Queensland's premier visual arts institution and leading national art museum, the two-site Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) are located within the Cultural Centre at South Bank overlooking the Brisbane River.
GoMA is Australia’s largest gallery of modern and contemporary art, with five levels of dramatic spaces designed specifically for dynamic exhibitions of art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Unique offerings at GoMA include film screenings at the Australian Cinémathèque, exploring the relationship between the moving image and visual culture, and showcasing the work of important film makes and artists.
The original Queensland Art Gallery presents works from its historical Australian, Asian and international collections and is distinguished nationally and internationally for its diverse collections of contemporary Australian art, Indigenous Australian Art, and the art of the Asia Pacific region.
