APSA LAUNCHES NEW MULTIMEDIA CENTRE

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) unveils the MULTIMEDIA section of its website today, launching with daily updates from Filmart 2009 by APSA correspondent and Variety critic, Russell Edwards. Russell’s FESTIVAL LOG is one of four new blogs that make up the key component of the Multimedia lounge. Stay up to date with Filmart as Russell surveys the news and tracks the buzz from one of Asia’s leading international film & television markets. From the Opening Night of the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival through the four day fair (March 23 - 26), APSA brings you a unique perspective on Filmart as it happens.

Stay tuned in coming weeks for the SCENE BY SCENE ON LOCATION blog, a ‘behind the scenes’ journey with the APSA Productions team as they gather stories for the Scene by Scene documentary series. Scene by Scene is screened by CNN International to more than 249 million households and hotel rooms in more than 200 countries and territories, providing Asia-Pacific filmmakers with unprecedented global television coverage. Join the production unit on the road as they meet the talented filmmakers of Asia-Pacific, providing audiences with unique insights into the power, reach and dynamic personalities of the region’s films.

The 2009 AWARDS CREATION blog will take readers inside the creative process of the 2009 APSA vessels that will be presented to winners in 12 APSA award categories. Follow one of Australia’s most highly regarded glass artists, Queenslander, Joanna Bone as she develops the 2009 APSA vessels from concept through to production and see first-hand the technique that forms the basis of Joanna’s exquisite creations.
